Since its inception, Cochin Cultural Centre has been attracting theatre-artists,classical, folk and contemporary dancers, researchers, art-historians, scholars and connoisseurs from the east and the west alike. In order to help the interested people from around the globe familiarise with the different performance traditions we have, we offer crash courses in different disciplines in diverse ethnic art forms. These courses are for a minimum period of three months to any amount of period. At our institution various aspects of KATHAKALI especially, like music, dancing, face painting, and crafts (costume making) are taught to students of both sexes from India and from other parts of the world. Our daily cultural programmes happening throughout the year can benefit the students to learn, how to appreciate the true art and the ancient culture of Kerala as well as India.Through Participation in these programmes, students get all round training in stagecraft, lighting, costuming, music and choreography.

The structure of the courses are in such a way that the student can acquire the basics of the subject in the shortest possible time. In this program an expert teacher from the specific faculty will specially coach the student every day for about two hours. In due course when sufficiently experienced, the timing and duration of the training can be increased on mutual consent and consultation. The students joining for this course can learn the basics of the subject they choose for training. Students under the International Cultural Exchange Programmes and self-financing students from any country reach Cochin Cultural Centre and undergo training in various disciplines.
